Maintenance & Cleaning

CLEANING THE GLASS: For many years the Question of cleaning your custom shower door has always been, "Do you recommend that I use Windex?" For many years our answer has been, "NO," because Windex may destroy the silicone that is applied. Unfortunately, other cleaners that are "environmentally friendly" (that will not harm the silicone) have proven to be be quite ineffective in the day-to-day cleaning of glass.

It is our recommendation that Windex may be used, but not left on the silicone sections, thus we strongly suggest that you wipe up any excess Windex left on the silicone after you have cleaned your shower door. It is suggested for warranty purposes that when CLEANING THE HARDWARE (HINGES, HANDLES, ETC...) to never use an abrasive cleaner. Many of the components are coated with a clear lacquer that will be irreparably damaged if subjected to harsh, abrasive chemicals. I suggest you dry your hardware with a clean, soft towel on a daily basis to keep your hardware looking like new for many years to come. If mineral deposits build-up on the hardware over time, mix a couple of drops of mild liquid soap (such as ivory or a similar product) into a cup of warm water and use a non-abrasive cloth to clean—making sure to rinse thoroughly.
